Welcome to the Church of the Holy Child’s website. While this is our little piece of the world-wide web, the church is physically located on Naamans Road near the Pennsylvania border in the northern most suburb of Wilmington, Delaware
The parish was established in June of 1969 by the late Bishop Thomas J. Mardaga. The same month that the parish was founded the State of Delaware legalized abortion. Hence, we requested and were granted the name Church of the Holy Child. Our name places us under the protection of the Child Jesus, whose statue you will find in the church, and at the same time our name honors all those ‘holy innocents’ whose lives were lost to abortion.
As a Roman Catholic community and we currently have 2078 families/households. We are happy to say that we have an enthusiastic, generous, supportive, and hospitable parish community. Church of the Holy Child is truly a wonderful faith-filled parish.
We hope that you find our website helpful and informative. If we can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are not a parishioner or someone who attends our church, we sincerely hope that you will soon visit us in person.
May God bless you abundantly.
